Samsung Honored by CEA as Leader in e-Waste Recycling

Samsung took home the first-ever eCycling Leadership Award from the Consumer Electronics Association. The electronics manufacturer was one of the first manufacturers to become an e-Stewards enterprise, and has proven to be a true leader in solving the e-waste crisis.

Kansas City Royals and e-Stewards Recycler Knock it Out of the Park with e-Waste Collection Event

The Kansas City Royals and e-Stewards recycler Vintage Tech, along with Interstate Batteries, Players for the Planet, Goodwill and Bridging the Gap hotsted an e-waste recycling drive on Friday, August 23 and Saturday, August 24.  The two day event welcomed over 500 area residents to Kauffman Stadium and Overland, Kansas, generating over 25,000 pounds.

Technical Guideline Remains Intact After Fierce Debate In Geneva

Key staff members from the Basel Action Network returned from the Basel Convention meetings in Geneva, Switzerland yesterday.  Attending a full week of meetings, BAN staff worked on finalizing the ‘Technical Guideline’ for the import and export of e-waste.  The Technical Guideline is meant to clarify when used electronic equipment is considered e-waste, and when it is not.
